The Aston Martin Valkyrie Hypercar
The Aston Martin Valkyrie is a limited production hybrid hypercar. It is designed and created by Aston Martin and Red Bull Racing. This amazing sports car is also known as the Nebula (original codename) and AM-RB 001 (final). The codename stands for the collaboration between Aston Martin and Red Bull, honoring their first car together. However, they created two versions of the Valkyrie hypercar. They made a road legal version and after that a track-oriented version.
The Valkyrie is the closest possible car to a Formula One car. Furthermore, the Valkyrie is not restricted to tracks and races only. Aston Martin will be producing only 150 units of the road version and 25 of the track version.
Specifications & Performance
Aston Martin reveled full specifications and information about the Valkyrie in 2017. Manufacturers like Bosch, Cosworth, Rimac Automobil, Michelin and several others also participated in the production of the hypercar. Therefore, this hypercar is the combination of the best. Every manufacturer left their mark on the car by helping shape one of the fastest and highest performing hypercars.
The Aston Martin Valkyrie has a 6.5 L V12 engine by Cosworth. It produces 1000 hp (746 kW) at 10,500 rpm (limited at 11,000 rpm.) This is the the most powerful and loudest revving naturally-aspirated engine in a road legal car. Rimac contributed with a hybrid battery system which increases the total horse power with 160 hp. Therefore, bringing it to a total of 1,160 hp (865 kW). A 7-speed single-clutch transmission fires up the powerful engine and gives life to the car.
The Aston Martin Valkyrie weighs a stunning 1,030 kg (2,271 lb). However, this value surpasses their intended 1:1 power-to-weight ratio with 1:1,126 hp per ton. The car consists of carbon-fiber components and pieces which is why this car is so light.
The Valkyrie hypercar speeds up to 100km/h (60 mph) in just 2.5 seconds. In other words, very very fast.
In conclusion, the Aston Martin Valkyrie is a superior road-legal car that can provide you with the experience of a Formula One racing car. In other words, this car has taken a top place in the long history of spectacular sports cars. The collaboration between Aston Martin and the Red Bull Racing team worked out very well and I think we can all agree that their product is astonishing.
