The latest Porsche hypercar is the Porsche 918 Spyder. It is a mid-engine plug-in hybrid car. Its production was unveiled at the September 2013 Frankfurt Motor Show. This Porsche hypercar broke the Nurburgring record in 2013 with a time of 6,57 sec. The 918 Spyder hypercar by Porsche is also part of the “holy trinity” of hypercars joined by the McLaren P1 and the LaFerrari (internal link to Ferrari hypercars page).

This Porsche hypercar was manufactured between 2004-2007. The Porsche Carrera GT is a mid-engine sports car designed by Harm Lagaay. The Carrera GT hypercar by Porsche was named #1 on the Top Sports Cars of the 2000s and #8 on the Top Sports Cars of All Time. The Porsche 911 GT1 was designed to compete in the GT1 class sports car racing. However, this meant that a street-legal version of the car was required to be made for homologation purposes. This is from where the name of this Porsche hypercar comes (Strassenversion = Street version). The hypercar by Porsche was produced only 25 times and therefore very rare.
